NACOC to begin licensing regime for medicinal, industrial cannabis cultivation

The move, the law enforcement agency says, follows Parliament’s approval of the regulatory and cost framework designed to operationalise the controlled cultivation, processing and use of cannabis

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) says it plans to commence the implementation of a licensing regime for the cultivation of medicinal and industrial cannabis in Ghana.

The move, the law enforcement agency says, follows Parliament’s approval of the regulatory and cost framework designed to operationalise the controlled cultivation, processing and use of cannabis with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content not exceeding 0.3 per cent for medicinal and industrial purposes.

In a public notice, NACOC stated that licences will be granted strictly to qualified entities that satisfy comprehensive and stringent requirements.
