Ken Agyapong should apologise for his comments against Abronye DC – NPP Communicator

He described Kennedy Agyapong’s comments as unfortunate stating that the party's unity is paramount at the moment and not derogatory remarks against party members.

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team in the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Maxwell Akunyire, has impressed on former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong to apologise for comments made against Bono Regional NPP Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abronye.

Kwame Baffoe Abronye, affectionately called Abronye DC, while delivering a speech during the party’s Thank You Tour in Berekum, said those pushing for amnesty for dismissed party members and unity had, in the lead up to the election, attacked the party publicly and contributed to its defeat.

This comment did not sit well with the former Assin Central MP, he angrily responded noting he could not be intimidated.

“Some people talk as if they own the party, but they don’t. If we are seeking real men in the party, they don’t measure up. Their financial contribution is minimal. They go around begging, yet they have mouths to talk. Even you poor people want to speak your mind, how much more rich men like us? Who born dog!” Agyapong said during the tour on April 28.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show, on Friday May 2, Akunyire commented on the issue that ensued between the two party stalwarts, described Kennedy Agyapong’s comments as unfortunate, stating that the party’s unity is paramount at the moment and not derogatory remarks against party members.

“It was needless, and the response was too bad from such a person of his stature. I want him to apologise for the comment he made.”

Akunyire emphasised that in the game of politics you don’t need to respond to everything said on platforms, stated that Kennedy Agyapongʻ should have reserved those comments prevailing the situation the party has within internal issues.
