Builsa North: Nawaasa Youth Welfare Association marks 2026 annual get-together in grand style

The event, celebrated in grand style, brought together the community members, the association members, friends, and well-wishers for a day filled with unity, reflection, and forward planning

The Nawaasa Youth Welfare Association has marked its 2026 edition of the annual get-together in a colorful and grand style at Chuchuliga in the Builsa North Municipality of the Upper East Region.

The event, celebrated in grand style, brought together the community members, the association members, friends, and well-wishers for a day filled with unity, reflection, and forward planning.

The festivities featured a colorful drumming and dancing through the Chuchuliga market and along the principal street of the township, drawing admiration from onlookers and symbolizing the association’s strong presence in the community.

The procession showcased the youthful energy and collective spirit that have become hallmarks of the group’s activities.

The celebration ended with refreshments and a general interaction session, where members had the opportunity to review the past year’s activities and achievements. Leaders of the association highlighted key milestones chalked in 2025 and encouraged members to remain committed to the group’s vision.

The chairman of the Association, Emmanuel Alagpulinsa, during his address noted that the aim of the association is for the youth to come together to channel resources towards development of the community and also to support each other in terms of farming, in terms of funerals, in terms of social gatherings and weddings, passing out, and all that. And so far, we have been able to do a lot in that regard.

“The major aim of the association is development of the community. And with development, we have been able to write to the assembly, and we have gotten ten poles from the assembly. We have been able to pull light to our school, our primary school. “Just that we are still fighting to get the meter,” he said.

Alagpulinsa concluded that the gathering also served as a planning platform, as members deliberated on new strategies and outlined their agenda for 2026 and beyond, focusing on youth empowerment, community development, and social cohesion.

The 2026 annual get-together once again underscored the Nawaasa Youth Welfare Association’s commitment to unity, progress, and sustainable development in Chuchuliga.
