Navrongo MP donates sanitary pads to support school girls in Navrongo, recognises corporate donors

The donation was supported by institutions including, Sunda International, CBL West Africa Limited, FrieslandCampina Ghana and Twellium Industrial Company Limited.

The Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Simon Akibange Aworigo, has donated sanitary pads to support adolescent girls in schools across the constituency.

Speaking in a media interview during activities marking the 69th Independence Day celebrations in Navrongo, the MP revealed that Sunda International donated 25 boxes of sanitary pads, amounting to about 600 pads, to support girls in schools.

According to him, the intervention is meant to help girls remain in school and stay focused on their education.

“Sanda International, the suppliers and producers of sanitary pads, have also been very supportive. They have given a lot of sanitary pads.”

The MP also acknowledged other corporate organisations that supported the Independence Day celebrations and educational initiatives in the constituency with various items.

He disclosed that CBL West Africa Limited donated biscuits worth GHS 30,000 for distribution to school children during the celebration.

“We have received support from CBL West Africa Limited. They have supported us with biscuits which we brought here for the kids,” he stated.

Aworigo further indicated that FrieslandCampina Ghana also contributed to the programme by supplying Peak milk to support the Independence Day activities.

Additionally, Twellium Industrial Company Limited donated 200 boxes of soft drinks to support the event.

While recognising the donors, the MP expressed appreciation for their commitment to supporting education and youth development in the constituency.

“It is good to have support from different sources because learning comes in different ways,” he noted.

Aworigo emphasised that partnerships between public officials and private organisations are crucial in improving education and creating opportunities for young people.

“Collectively, with the help of our teachers, parents and all stakeholders, it is our responsibility to build the future of our children and our society.” He added.
