Kassena-Nankana MCE Faustina Abulu calls for unity and compassion as Muslims in Navrongo celebrate Eid al-Fitr
She also reminded citizens to support the vulnerable, including the sick, elderly, and less fortunate, stressing that the joy of Eid is most meaningful when shared with those in need.
Muslims across Navrongo joined the global community today in celebrating Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The celebrations took place at COS Park, where worshippers gathered for prayers and thanksgiving.
Speaking to the Muslim community, Municipal Chief Executive Faustina Akeyeom Abulu conveyed warm greetings on behalf of President John Mahama and called on citizens to uphold the values of Ramadan.
“Ramadan has granted us compassion, humility, generosity, and obedience to the will of Allah.” Abulu said.
She also reminded citizens to support the vulnerable, including the sick, elderly, and less fortunate, stressing that the joy of Eid is most meaningful when shared with those in need.
“The blessing of eating lies in sharing and compassion. I encourage all who are able to extend support to the less privileged, so that no one is left behind in the joy of this occasion.” she added.]
On matters of peace and security, the MCE urged youth and community leaders to work together to prevent division, violence, and conflict.
“Peace and security are critical to our progress. We must do away with all forms of division and conflict and work together for a more inclusive, stable, and prosperous municipality.”

Adding to the celebrations, Abibakar Sadiq Abdelkarim, spokesperson for the Chief Imam of Navrongo, highlighted upcoming initiatives to support Muslim communities.
“Soon, we will kick start a Suyeye Fund and a Zongo Development Fund to support our Muslim brothers and sisters and improve our communities.” He said.
The Eid celebrations concluded with prayers, communal feasting, and a renewed call for peace, unity, and compassion throughout the municipality.
