GEA CEO calls for inclusive approach to sustainable livelihoods to achieve development
She noted that the agency is actively implementing a range of sustainable programmes and interventions deliberately targeted at marginalized groups, particularly women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Margaret Ansei, has underscored the critical importance of inclusion in achieving sustainable development, stating that “it’s impossible to achieve sustainability without inclusion.”
She made this assertion during a presentation at the National Market Actors’ Forum held at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
The forum, organized by World Vision Ghana in partnership with Vision Fund Ghana, was held under the theme “Partnering for Prosperity: Strengthening Market Linkages for All.”
It brought together key stakeholders to explore strategies aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth across the country.

In her address, Ansei shed light on the role of the GEA as the apex government institution responsible for fostering an enabling environment for business growth. She noted that the agency is actively implementing a range of sustainable programmes and interventions deliberately targeted at marginalized groups, particularly women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
Among the flagship initiatives she cited were BizBox, the Ghana Enterprise Transformation Programme (GETP), Ghana Jobs and Skills, and SMEGo, all designed to enhance entrepreneurial capacity and improve livelihoods.

Ansei further emphasized that GEA’s Business Advisory Centres and Business Resource Centres nationwide are fully equipped to support entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey.
According to her, these Centres provide critical services including business development support, business formalization, access to finance, and market linkages.
Participants at the forum engaged in discussions on strengthening partnerships and expanding opportunities to ensure that no segment of society is left behind in Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
