Late-night fire razes shops at Navrongo lorry station, destroying goods worth thousands as traders await support and investigations into the cause.

A late-night fire outbreak on Sunday, April 26, has destroyed several stores at the OA lorry station behind the Treasury Block in Navrongo, leaving traders counting losses running into thousands of Ghana cedis.
The blaze, which reportedly started around 11:30 PM engulfed about five container shops, consuming goods and property before firefighters brought the situation under control.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly to the incident and managed to prevent the fire from spreading further.
However, all items in the affected stores were completely destroyed.
During a visit to the scene on Monday April 27, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Kasena Nankana Municipal Assembly, Faustina Abulu, accompanied by the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other assembly officials, expressed sympathy to the affected traders.

She urged victims to cooperate fully with investigations to determine the cause of the fire and assured them of the Assembly’s support.
Madam Abulu also indicated that steps would be taken to engage the appropriate authorities for possible government assistance to help cushion the losses of affected traders, pending the outcome of investigations.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as authorities continue with investigations.
