Stop voting for NDC that does not prioritise Upper East development — Moses Amoah urges voters
Upper East voters urged to rethink support for NDC over development concerns — NPP Secretary Amoah
Moses Amoah Abanga, the Navrongo Central Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on voters in the Upper East Region to reconsider their continued support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the party of failing to prioritise the development of the region despite enjoying overwhelming electoral support over the years.
According to him, the region has remained loyal to the NDC in successive elections, yet residents have little to show in terms of major developmental projects and infrastructure.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast News on Thursday, May 7, Amoah advocated for a change in the region’s voting pattern, arguing that political loyalty should translate into tangible development.
“If we keep voting for a party that consistently secures not less than 70 per cent of our votes in every election, and at the end of the day there is nothing monumental to celebrate, then what is the essence?” he questioned.
He further criticised Members of Parliament from the region, stating that despite the NDC winning all the parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region, there has been little collective effort to champion the developmental needs of the area.
“When was the last time you saw the Upper East Caucus coming together aggressively to push for developmental projects for our region? What it means is that they are sleeping on the job,” he stated.
Amoah urged residents to move beyond political party colours and make electoral decisions based on the developmental interests of the region.
Comparing the Upper East Region to other parts of the country, he argued that the region continues to lag behind in terms of infrastructure and investment.
“We also deserve hospitals, first-class roads, interchanges, sports stadia, and other major projects,” he added.
