204 Adumawura beneficiaries to receive grants – Upper East NEIP Director

204 entrepreneurs secure grants under Adumawura initiative to boost business growth in Upper East

The Upper East Regional Director of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Monica Bakiva, has announced that 204 beneficiaries under the Adumawura initiative have been selected to receive financial grants to support their businesses in the region.

She explained that out of 672 applicants who participated in a capacity-building programme, 225 advanced to the pitching and assessment stage, with 204 ultimately qualifying for grant support.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday, April 30, Bakiva said the initiative is expected to significantly impact youth development in the region by promoting entrepreneurship and business growth.

“We had 672 participants in the capacity-building training. Out of that number, 225 were selected for pitching, and in the end, 204 qualified for the grant disbursement.” She stated.

She urged beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds, regardless of the amount received, emphasizing that even modest capital can be effectively leveraged to grow a business.

Bakiva also encouraged young people to embrace entrepreneurship as a sustainable means of livelihood, rather than relying solely on government employment.

Drawing from her personal experience, she noted that consistent investment, even in small amounts, can lead to long-term business growth and financial stability.

The Adumawura initiative forms part of NEIP’s broader efforts to equip young entrepreneurs with the skills and resources needed to build resilient enterprises and contribute to local economic development.
