NPP communicator says “remain patient” comment reflects NDC’s failure to deliver campaign promises

Jacob Asomadawine argues that the government should focus on implementing key promises, including the 24-hour economy policy and Women’s Development Bank, instead of asking supporters to remain patient.

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Jacob Asomadawine, has described recent comments by National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, as an admission that the governing party has failed to deliver on some of its campaign promises.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, May 20, Asomadawine said the NDC Chairman’s appeal to party supporters to remain patient with the government while it works towards creating sustainable jobs suggests that the administration has not met the expectations of Ghanaians, particularly the youth.

According to him, the remarks by Asiedu Nketiah indicate that the government is struggling to implement key initiatives promised during the 2024 election campaign.

“Asiedu Nketiah went there to tell the people that they had failed, but they should still remain in the party because there is hope,” Asomadawine stated.

He specifically referenced the proposed Women’s Development Bank, which he said was expected to create sustainable jobs and economic opportunities for many young women across the country, as one of the promises yet to be fulfilled by the NDC administration.

Asomadawine argued that instead of appealing to party supporters to remain faithful and patient with the government, the NDC administration should concentrate on implementing the major promises it made to Ghanaians during the 2024 general elections.

He added that until Ghanaians begin to see tangible results from flagship promises such as the proposed 24-hour economy policy, many citizens will continue to demand proof of the government’s commitment to delivering on its pledges.
