Kacstone Records, a music recording label and logistics company, has constructed and commissioned a standard volleyball court for Paga Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District as part of its commitment to youth and sports development.
The facility was officially commissioned on Saturday, June 7, at the school’s premises, where company representatives, education officials, students, community members and other stakeholders gathered to celebrate the initiative.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Directors of Kacstone Records, Raymond Addah explained that the project forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at supporting communities and promoting the holistic development of young people.
“This project forms part of our corporate social responsibility commitment towards supporting communities and contributing to the development of young people,” he stated.
Addah noted that Paga Senior High School was selected for the intervention due to the infrastructural challenges it has faced since its establishment in 2010, a situation he said has negatively impacted student enrolment and development.
He expressed optimism that the volleyball court would serve as a platform for identifying and nurturing sporting talents who could contribute to national development.
“We are confident that this volleyball court will serve as a platform for nurturing talents and inspiring students to reach their full potential,” he added.
In addition to the court, Kacstone Records donated various sporting equipment, including volleyball nets and balls, discus, shot put, softball, javelin sets, high jump equipment, and a table tennis board with its accessories.

Addah further appealed to government and other benevolent organisations to support the school through its absorption into the boarding school system, the construction of dormitories and science laboratories, and the fencing of the school compound.
The Kassena-Nankana West District Director of Education, Mary-Magdalene Wompakea, who was the Special Guest of Honour, expressed gratitude to Kacstone Records for the gesture.
“Let me extend the deep appreciation of the educational community to the Managing Directors of Kacstone Records, Mr. Wenawome Duriyem Aborah and Mr. Michael Adangba. You have once again demonstrated that business success and community development can go hand in hand,” she said.
According to her, the investment in sports infrastructure goes beyond the construction of a physical facility.
“By investing in sports infrastructure, you are not merely building a court of concrete and lines. You are building an arena for discipline, teamwork, resilience and excellence. You are giving our students a place to grow beyond the classroom walls,” she remarked.
Wompakea stressed that education is not solely about academic achievement but also the holistic development of learners. She noted that the values instilled through sports are essential for the development of the district, region, and the nation as a whole.
She urged students and school authorities to make judicious use of the facility and leverage it to develop sporting talents that would bring honour to the school and district.
As part of activities marking the commissioning, a volleyball competition involving selected senior high schools from the Kassena-Nankana Municipality and Kassena-Nankana West District was organised.
Notre Dame Minor Seminary Senior High School, Navrongo, emerged winners in the male category, while St. John’s Integrated Senior High School won the female category.
Awards were presented to winners of the volleyball competition as well as participants in other sporting activities held ahead of the commissioning ceremony.
