The Ministry of Education has announced that the 2025 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) has so far achieved a 90 percent success rate.
According to the Head of Public Relations at the Ministry, Hajia Munira Abdul Karim, this year’s exercise has seen significant improvement compared to previous years.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday, September 29, Hajia Munira disclosed that out of the 650,118 candidates who registered, 590,309 qualified for placement. Out of the qualified number, 572,416 have successfully been placed in various senior high and technical schools across the country.
“So I can say that this year’s placement has largely been successful, in the sense that we have been able to place a lot more candidates compared to the previous year. This is a clear indication of how successful this year’s placement has been.” She stated.
Touching on concerns raised by some parents over wards who missed out on their choices, Hajia Munira explained that failure in any of the core subjects, Mathematics, Science, and English, could result in a candidate not securing any of their seven choices.
“In such circumstances, the self-placement option is available to ensure that every child has the opportunity to go to school.” She added.
She further urged parents and guardians facing challenges to make use of the resolution centers established in all regional capitals to assist with outstanding placement issues.
Hajia Munira called for patience from parents as the Ministry works to resolve the few remaining challenges to ensure that all qualified candidates are placed.
