Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly tops Upper East in public financial management, ranks 38th nationally
Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly records a remarkable rise from 207th to 38th nationally, emerging as the top-performing assembly in the Upper East Region.
The Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly has been ranked the best-performing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly (MMDA) in the Upper East Region and 38th nationally in the 2025 Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT).
The Assembly scored 78.80 percent, placing first among the 15 assemblies in the Upper East Region and 38th out of 261 MMDAs nationwide.
The performance also marks a significant improvement from its previous national ranking of 207th in 2024.
The rankings, contained in the 2025 Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (3rd Edition), assess the performance of MMDAs in complying with public financial management regulations and best practices.
Bolgatanga East District Assembly placed second in the Upper East Region with a score of 63.90 percent, followed by Bawku Municipal Assembly in third with 61.50 percent.
The latest ranking highlights Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly’s progress in strengthening financial management and accountability, reinforcing its commitment to prudent management of public resources and effective local governance.
