Samuel Atanga declares intention to contest NDC Vice Chairman position in Chiana-Paga

Samuel Asamburi Atanga says his leadership and organisational experience will help strengthen grassroots structures, unity and development in the Chiana-Paga NDC.

Samuel Asamburi Atanga has declared his intention to contest for the position of Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Chiana-Paga Constituency, pledging to bring his organisational and student leadership experience to the party.

Atanga, who is campaigning under the theme “service, unity and development,” says his decision is driven by a commitment to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and contribute to the development of the constituency.

He says his leadership priorities will include improving service to party members, promoting unity, strengthening grassroots organisation and communication, and increasing the participation of women and young people in party activities.

Atanga is currently the Branch Chairman of the NDC branch at Dazongo Primary School, having previously served as the branch’s Communication Officer for about three consecutive terms before becoming Chairman.

He also brings experience from student politics at the University for Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), where he served as GNATOC Vice Chairman before becoming SRC General Secretary.

According to Atanga, his experience in student leadership, particularly during his tenure as SRC General Secretary, contributed to a number of successes at the university and has equipped him with organisational, coordination and leadership skills that he intends to apply to the development of the NDC in Chiana-Paga.

He has pledged to promote accountability, inclusiveness and consultation while working within the established structures and principles of the NDC.

Atanga also identifies community development as a key priority, with a focus on supporting initiatives in education, health, skills development and social welfare.

He says his ambition is not about personal advancement but about offering himself for service and contributing to the collective growth of the constituency.

“I am prepared to listen, learn, collaborate and contribute wherever my services are required,” he said.

Atanga has therefore called on party members to support his vision as he seeks the mandate to serve as Vice Chairman of the Chiana-Paga Constituency.
