Adiali pledges to expand access to national opportunities for Chiana-Paga

Adiali promises stronger national links, educational support and development opportunities for Chiana-Paga residents

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chiana-Paga Constituency Chairman aspirant, Dickson Adiali, says he will work to expand access to national opportunities for qualified residents of the constituency if retained as constituency chairman.

The proposal forms part of his re-election campaign, with the constituency leadership seeking to strengthen its connections with national institutions and create more opportunities for qualified people from Chiana-Paga to contribute at various levels of government.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday, October 1, spokesperson for Adiali, Raymond Adiali, said the constituency had professionals with expertise in several fields but needed stronger networks to connect them to opportunities at the national level.

He said Dickson Adiali had been engaging ministries and chief executive officers as part of efforts by the constituency party leadership to advocate for appointments and other opportunities for qualified constituents.

“The opportunities are always limited, and it depends on the kind of links that you create with people in higher authority that will get you those appointments,” Raymond Adiali said.

He said Chiana-Paga had professionals in areas including academia, business, law and medicine whose expertise could contribute to the development of the constituency and the country if given the opportunity to serve.

Raymond Adiali also highlighted educational support initiatives being undertaken to help develop a pipeline of professionals from the constituency.

According to him, the Member of Parliament has been supporting students pursuing programmes including medicine, law, engineering and economics, with plans to expand the number of beneficiaries.

He said the initiative was intended to support the development of professionals who could eventually return to the constituency and contribute their expertise to its development.

“Every academic year, he is going to sponsor one medical doctor, one lawyer, one engineer, and then somebody who is into economics,” he said.

Beyond human capital development, Raymond Adiali said the constituency was also seeking continued investment in road infrastructure, schools and technical education.

He said Dickson Adiali working with the constituency executives, the Member of Parliament and other key party stakeholders, would continue engaging relevant authorities to attract more opportunities and development projects to Chiana-Paga if given another term as constituency chairman.
