Amoah and Abuga rally support for KNMA MCE nominee confirmation
The two, shared similar thoughts on the re-nomination of Faustina Akeyom Abulu by President Mahama as MCE nominee after failing an initial confirmation in April.
Moses Amoah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Secretary for the Navrongo Central Constituency and Benjamin Biadana Abuga, a communications team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, have both rallied support for the re-nominated Chief Executive for the Kasena-Nankana Municipal Assembly to be confirmed.
Both, making an appearance on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday June 13, shared similar thoughts on the re-nomination of Faustina Akeyom Abulu by President Mahama as MCE nominee after failing an initial confirmation in April.
Amoah, who urged members of the assembly to give the nominee the nod, called on the governing NDC to take responsibility for the previous confirmation failure and urged them to ensure their affiliated assembly members back the nominee this time.
He emphasised that her confirmation will ensure the municipality gets its fair share of development.
“It has to do with the development of the Kasana Nankana municipality. If we don’t have an MCE, a lot of things would not go on well, so I would like to also add my voice to plead with the leadership of the NDC to ensure she is confirmed.”
Amoah, however, urged the leadership of the NDC to reinstate appointed assembly members whose appointments were revoked after the failed confirmation and called on the regional minister urgently set a date for the confirmation.
Benjamin Biadana Abuga, on his part, praised the nominee as a competent leader who deserves another chance.
“She is a goal getter, I think she should be confirmed because I don’t doubt the discretion of the party and the competence of Madam Faustina, she has been a political leader of the NDC for more than twenty years and has all the capability to deliver,” Abuga stated.
Abuga appealed to all stakeholders, including assembly members and party representatives, to put partisanship aside and ensure that the nominee is confirmed without further delay.
The Kasena-Nankana Municipal Assembly is the only assembly in the Upper East Region currently without a chief executive since the inception of the Mahama administration in January.
