Builsa South: 21 hairdressing apprentices inducted into national association

The induction ceremony followed the successful completion of their apprenticeship training and their formal entry into the professional body representing beauticians and hairdressers across Ghana.

Twenty-one newly qualified hairdressing apprentices have been inducted into the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers (NABH) following a graduation ceremony held in the Builsa South District.

The induction ceremony followed the successful completion of their apprenticeship training and their formal entry into the professional body representing beauticians and hairdressers across Ghana.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including a representative of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), who delivered remarks on behalf of the agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Margaret Ansei. Also represented at the ceremony was the District Chief Executive for Builsa South, Ann Musah-Akanko.

Addressing the graduates, the GEA delegate congratulated the apprentices for reaching a significant milestone in their professional journey. The representative noted that the graduation not only signifies their achievement as trained craft professionals but also marks the beginning of a new phase focused on self-development, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

As Ghana’s apex institution for the development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), the Ghana Enterprises Agency reiterated its commitment to supporting the graduates as they establish and grow their businesses.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders and representatives of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).

According to the agency, the newly inducted professionals can access support through the Business Advisory Centre in the district capital. The centre provides business development services, regulatory guidance, and advisory support for small enterprises.

The graduates were also encouraged to take advantage of key initiatives such as the BizBox Project, which offers start-up tools and entrepreneurship training, and the HAPPY Project, a programme designed to improve productivity and expand market access for small businesses.

Officials noted that these interventions are intended to equip emerging entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and market linkages needed to build sustainable enterprises.
