Builsa Youth demand urgent action on abandoned Chuchuliga–Sandema–Fumbisi–Wiesi road project

The group stated that the road’s completion is long overdue, noting that its current state continues to undermine local businesses, hinder the movement of goods and people, and isolate several communities from vital health and education services.

The Builsa Youth for Development has called on President John Dramani Mahama to urgently resume work on the stalled Chuchuliga–Sandema–Fumbisi–Wiesi road project, which they described is a critical lifeline for the area’s economic and social development.

In a statement signed by Ignatius Akaboka, the acting President, the group expressed deep frustration over the abandonment of the project by the contractor, which has left the road in a deplorable state and severely affecting transportation across the Builsa Land.

“This project was not only a campaign promise but a lifeline for the economic and social transformation of our area,” the statement read.

“Regrettably, the contractor has abandoned the site, leaving the project in an unacceptable state of stagnation.” The statement added.

The group stated that the road’s completion is long overdue, noting that its current state continues to undermine local businesses, hinder the movement of goods and people, and isolate several communities from vital health and education services.

As the government prepares the 2026 National Budget, the group has urged the finance minister to make the road a top priority and allocate adequate resources for its immediate continuation and completion.

“The people of Buluk are watching closely, and we expect actions that match the promises made to us. Development is not a privilege—it is our constitutional right.” the statement added.

While extending goodwill to President Mahama and his administration for their ongoing efforts to deliver development across the country, the youth insisted that fairness and equity in resource distribution must be upheld.

“We stand united in our demand for fairness, equity, and accountability in national development.”
