The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has commissioned an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block at Gbedema in the Builsa South District to improve teaching and learning in the area.
The newly commissioned facility, funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), comprises a six-unit classroom block with an auxiliary six-seater WC facility, electricity connection, ceiling fans, and marker boards. The structure will serve as a primary school for the Gbedema community.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, May 14, Dr. Apaak reaffirmed his commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the district, stressing that quality facilities are critical to effective teaching and learning.
The Chief of Gbedema, Nab Nkrumah Apaarinchang, speaking on behalf of the community, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for what he described as a significant intervention aimed at enhancing education in the area.
In a further boost to education in the district, Dr. Apaak presented 4,348 mono desks with tables to the Builsa South Education Directorate at Fumbisi Senior High School for onward distribution to senior high and junior high schools across the district.
According to the MP, the provision of desks remains essential to creating a conducive learning environment, hence his decision to prioritise their supply. He noted that the desks were also funded through GETFund support.
Dr. Apaak also donated four motorbikes to School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) to strengthen monitoring and supervision within the education sector.
He explained that effective supervision plays a vital role in improving educational standards and expressed optimism that the motorbikes would enable SISOs to carry out their duties more efficiently across their various circuits.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Director of Education, the Deputy Director in charge of Monitoring and Supervision, Stephen Akumzeyam Ajubil, thanked the MP for the support and assured him that the desks and motorbikes would be distributed fairly to achieve their intended purposes.
The Headmaster of Fumbisi Senior High School, Michael Adapim, speaking on behalf of beneficiary schools, also expressed appreciation to the MP for the intervention.
He, however, appealed to Dr. Apaak to consider prioritising the construction of a perimeter fence wall for the school, alongside other infrastructure projects, to further enhance teaching and learning conditions at the school.
