An international non-governmental organisation, Engage, Uplift, Empower (EUE) has donated school uniforms worth GH¢24,000 to 200 pupils of Chania Roman Catholic Primary School in the Kassena-Nankana West District to support education and improve the welfare of learners in the area.
The initiative is expected to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians, encourage regular school attendance, and boost the confidence of pupils as they pursue their academic goals.
Speaking during a ceremony held at the school premises on Friday, May 22, the Headmaster of the school, Hilary Aniakwo, expressed profound gratitude to the organisation for the gesture.
“Your donation of school uniforms is not only a gift of clothing, but also a symbol of love, care and commitment to the education and well-being of our children,” he said.
“Through this kind gesture, many pupils will gain renewed confidence, a stronger sense of belonging, and greater motivation to pursue their academic dreams.”

Also addressing the gathering, the Upper East Regional Manager of Catholic Schools, Sr. Dr. Bernardine Pemii, commended EUE for the support.
According to her, basic schools in northern Ghana continue to face numerous challenges, making every intervention aimed at improving education highly commendable.
“School children here face challenges including learning in environments that are not conducive, yet they sit for the same examinations as their counterparts in more privileged parts of the country,” she noted.
Representing EUE, Kim Thurman said the organisation, although still in its early stages of growth, remains committed to undertaking humanitarian activities that uplift and empower communities.
She expressed hope that the uniforms would positively impact the lives of the pupils.
“May the uniforms be worn with pride, and may they serve as a reminder that the pupils are loved, cared for, and not forgotten,” she said.
The organisation also pledged to support the school further by constructing a library in the future and helping to provide other essential needs within the community.
Some of the beneficiary pupils expressed excitement and appreciation to the organisation for the donation, describing the gesture as timely and encouraging.
They said the new uniforms would boost their confidence and motivate them to take their studies seriously.
Community members who attended the event also expressed appreciation to the organisation and prayed that its goodwill towards the school and the community would bring lasting impact to the lives of many.
The event brought together teachers, pupils, parents, community members, stakeholders and well-wishers.
