Fawzia Abagnamah urges defeated Women Organizer aspirants to put differences aside

The Upper East Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has urged unsuccessful Women Organizer and Deputy Women Organizer aspirants to put aside their differences and rally behind the newly elected candidates to strengthen party unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a congratulatory statement issued on Sunday, October 25, 2026, she called on all contestants to embrace peace, reconciliation and cooperation following the constituency elections held across all 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region on Saturday, October 24.

She said the party’s strength lies in unity and urged the women’s wing to prioritise its collective interests over individual ambitions to build a united and formidable front.

“I encourage you to put aside any differences arising from the elections and rally behind the winners. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must work together to build a united and formidable women’s wing capable of advancing the party’s interests,” she said.

Abagnamah further urged the newly elected constituency Women Organizers and their deputies to discharge their responsibilities with humility, dedication and a strong commitment to serving the party and its members.

She stressed the need for women in the party to strengthen grassroots structures and intensify mobilisation efforts towards retaining the NDC in power in the 2028 general elections.

The regional Women Organizer also called on party faithful, particularly members of the women’s wing, to remain focused on the task of building a stronger and more united party, emphasising that the elections had ended but the work of consolidating the party’s structures and preparing for the 2028 polls remained a shared responsibility.
