GFA President to embark on regional working visit

Following the Upper East engagement, the GFA President will proceed to the Northern Region to continue his regional working visit.

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, is set to embark on a regional working visit as part of efforts to deepen engagement with football stakeholders and strengthen grassroots football development across the country.

The working visit will commence in the Upper West Region on Monday, 2nd February, 2026, where the GFA President is expected to spend a day interacting with key football administrators and stakeholders in the region.

Itinerary of the visit.

Mr. Okraku will subsequently move to Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital, for a three-day working visit from 3rd to 5th February, 2026. Upon his arrival on 3rd February, he will hold meetings with officials of the Regional Football Association and members of the Executive Committee. He is also scheduled to engage various stakeholders, including club administrators and referees, as part of broader consultations on football development in the region.

On the second day of the visit, the GFA President will pay courtesy calls on the Upper East Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Regional House of Chiefs. The itinerary will further include a visit to the Kurt Okraku Technical Centre at Bigboss in Winkongo, as well as the U-15 Academy, underscoring the Association’s commitment to youth and technical development.

The regional tour is aimed at strengthening collaboration with football stakeholders and advancing grassroots football initiatives in the regions. While this marks Mr. Okraku’s first official working visit to the Upper East Region, it will be his third visit to the region since his election as President of the Ghana Football Association.

Following the Upper East engagement, the GFA President will proceed to the Northern Region to continue his regional working visit.
