His warning comes after Professor Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Acting Director-General of the Ghana Health Services, donated essential medications and health equipment's to the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo, to combat Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM).

The Overlord of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Aniakwo Balinia Adda Asagpaare II, has vowed to close down pharmacies in the area, found complicit in the selling of medicines donated to hospitals.
His warning comes after Professor Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Acting Director-General of the Ghana Health Services, donated essential medications and health equipment’s to the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo, to combat Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM).

In his speech during the presentation at the War Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 4, 2025, Pe Asagpaare II cautioned hospital staff against selling donated hospital medications to private entities.
“Any drugstore found selling these medications will be closed down, and I will find those responsible for sending them there. These donations are meant to help my people, not end up on the market.” He fumed.
The Overlord tasked the hospital management to strengthen their management strategies to safeguard health medications and equipment donated to the hospital.
