Interior Ministry imposes dusk to dawn curfew on Binduri township
A statement issued on the Ministry's Facebook page urged residents to exercise restraint and ensure peace prevails.

The Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has announced the imposition of a dawn to dusk curfew on Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region, effective Monday March 24, 2025.
The curfew, which takes effect from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily, has been imposed following the advice of the Upper East and North East Regional Security Councils.
A statement issued by the Ministry urged residents to exercise restraint and ensure peace prevails.
“Government calls on the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them as well as use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.” The statement said in parts.
A total ban on possession of arms, ammunition, or offensive weapons, has also been imposed on Binduri and its environs. The statement said individuals found violating this directive will face arrest and prosecution.
