Kassena-Nankana MCE vows unannounced monitoring of National Apprenticeship Programme
She also cautioned master craft trainers against any form of poor supervision or ineffective implementation that could undermine the programme’s objectives.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, Faustina Akeyom Abulu, has pledged to ensure the effective implementation of the government’s National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) through rigorous and continuous monitoring.
Speaking during the presentation of toolkits to the first batch of beneficiaries on Monday, February 23, 2026, Abulu described the programme as a strategic intervention capable of boosting the municipality’s local economy if properly implemented.

She urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity by applying the skills acquired to build sustainable livelihoods. She also cautioned master craft trainers against any form of poor supervision or ineffective implementation that could undermine the programme’s objectives.
“Handle this equipment with care, I promise that I will come myself to monitor, unannounced. If I come to your shop and you are not doing the needful, you have yourself to blame.” She warned.
The Municipal Chief Executive further described the initiative as a clear demonstration of President Mahama’s commitment to youth empowerment and skills development across the country.

In total, 28 master craft trainers and more than 150 apprentices in the municipality are benefiting from the first batch of the pilot phase of the programme, which is expected to enhance vocational skills, promote self-employment, and stimulate local economic growth.
