NaSIA establishes a regional operational base in Bolgatanga to strengthen school inspection, accountability, and collaboration with education stakeholders.

The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) has officially commissioned its regional office in the Upper East Region at the Regional Education Office in Bolgatanga, marking a significant step towards strengthening school inspection and collaboration among education stakeholders.

The brief commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, October 19, 2026, brought together the Inspector General of Schools, Tahiru Azeko, the Regional Director of NaSIA, Gilbert Baba Alolbila, and the Regional Director of Education, together with their respective teams.

In his welcome address, Gilbert Baba Alolbila expressed profound gratitude to the Regional Director of Education and his team for making office space available to accommodate the Authority. He acknowledged the support as an important gesture towards facilitating NaSIA’s operations in the region.

The Inspector General of Schools, Tahiru Azeko, also expressed appreciation to the Regional Director of Education and his team for their cooperation and support. He charged the Regional Director of NaSIA to maintain effective communication and accountability to all stakeholders and partners, particularly the Ghana Education Service (GES), to promote a coordinated approach to school inspection and educational improvement.

Tahiru Azeko subsequently handed over the keys to the refurbished office to Alolbila and urged him and his team to take good care of the facility to ensure its effective use and long-term maintenance.

In his remarks, the Regional Director of Education, Razak Z. Abdul-Korah commended Alolbila for what he described as a brilliant presentation during an engagement with the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) some months ago. He expressed confidence in Alolbila’s ability to deliver on his mandate, assuring Azeko that he had no doubts about the Regional Director’s capacity to perform.

The Regional Director of Education further called for teamwork and strengthened collaboration among NaSIA, GES and other education stakeholders, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in improving learning outcomes across the Upper East Region.

The commissioning of the office is expected to provide NaSIA with a dedicated operational base in the region and facilitate closer engagement with education partners in the pursuit of quality education.
