Navrongo Central MP donates GH₵5,000 and 8 streetlights to Awe Senior High Technical School
Addressing students, staff, and dignitaries at the event held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the MP acknowledged the school’s ongoing challenges and assured management of his continued support.
The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Simon Akibange Aworigo, has donated GH₵5,000 and eight streetlights to the Awe Senior High Technical School (AWESCO) during the school’s 10th Speech and Prize Giving Day, reaffirming his commitment to supporting the institution’s infrastructural and academic growth.
Addressing students, staff, and dignitaries at the event held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the MP acknowledged the school’s ongoing challenges and assured management of his continued support.
“During our campaign, I came here, and I met a cross-section of the students, and I met the staff, teaching staff and non-teaching staff. A number of things were put before me, including infrastructure needs, teaching material, and even as I walked through this morning, I’ve seen that not much has changed in that way.” He said.
Aworigo stressed that infrastructure alone would not significantly improve the school without discipline and commitment from the students.
“But I also know very well that infrastructure alone does not change society or change schools. It is the discipline, it is character building. So as a member of parliament, I’ll do my best to get you what you need in terms of infrastructure, in teaching material, I expect that you live the life that is expected of you as students.” He added.
As part of his pledge, the MP donated six streetlights to brighten the school environment and presented a GH₵5,000 financial contribution.
“And so I have had requests from the school that some parts of the school is dark during night time and so I came with six street lamps. I will also pledge to donate 5,000 cedis even as we wait for the project that I will lobby for to come to you.”
He further reaffirmed his dedication to supporting the institution in the years ahead.
“As a Member of Parliament, I want to assure you that I’m committed to contributing to us in the future.”
