Navrongo Central NDC Chairman calls for unity after victory
Dominic Ayaaba urges defeated candidates and their supporters to unite behind the newly elected NDC constituency executives following his victory with 567 votes.
The newly elected Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Dominic Ayaaba has called on party members to unite behind the newly elected constituency executives to strengthen the party’s prospects in future general elections.
He said unity and collective effort were essential to consolidating the party’s position in the constituency and working towards electoral victory.
Ayaaba made the call after the swearing-in of the newly elected constituency executives on Saturday October 24, at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) Auditorium in Navrongo.
Addressing party members after the ceremony, he urged members to put aside their differences and rally behind the new leadership for the collective progress of the party.
“I want to entreat us all to come together and work for the unity of the party. It is the NDC that has won,” he said.
He stressed that the victory belonged to the entire party and not only the elected executives, urging unsuccessful candidates and their supporters to join the new leadership in advancing the party’s interests.
Ayaaba also expressed gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in the newly elected executives and the opportunity to lead the party at the constituency level.
He polled 567 of the 1,120 valid votes cast to defeat three other candidates in the contest for the chairmanship position.
