You must fulfill promise to upgrade War Memorial Hospital – Moses Amoah tells NDC

He emphasised that the pledge to convert the War Memorial Hospital into a teaching hospital, intended to support the medical programmes at CK Tedam University, was captured in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.

Moses Amoah, the Navrongo Central Constituency Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a member of the NPP Upper East Regional Communications Team, is demanding that the John Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) fulfill its campaign promise to upgrade the War Memorial Hospital into a teaching hospital.

Commenting on the 2026 Budget Statement on the Big Mike Breakfast Show, Amoah expressed concern over the absence of any budgetary allocation for the upgrading of the hospital.

He emphasised that the pledge to convert the War Memorial Hospital into a teaching hospital, intended to support the medical programmes at CK Tedam University, was captured in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.

“They promised that they were going to upgrade the war memorial hospital into a teaching hospital. It’s in their manifesto, and we are holding them to it. They must upgrade the War Memorial Hospital to a teaching hospital because they promised to do it, and we are keenly observing the NDC.”

Amoah noted that upgrading the hospital would significantly enhance medical education in Navrongo and the wider Upper East Region.

“If upgraded by the government, it can be a learning centre for the students, the medical students, so that is what we want them to do. I am reminding them of that promise.”

He also urged the government to deliberately invest in the northern regions to help bridge the development gap between the north and the south.
