Professor Joseph Amikuzuno has called on the government to prioritize addressing the infrastructure deficits in Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country to enhance the quality of education.
Speaking at the climax of the Students Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration of Awe Senior High Technical School in Navrongo, Professor Amikuzuno emphasized that improved infrastructures such as classrooms, dormitories, clinics, and school bus, create the conducive environment necessary for students to excel.
While appealing to the government and other stakeholders to support SHS institutions, Professor Amikuzuno commended the management of Awe Senior High Technical School for maintaining academic excellence despite the numerous challenges.
He acknowledged the school’s resilience and dedication to providing quality education under the difficult circumstances.
“But despite all these challenges, Awe Senior High School is doing well and we are grateful to the headmaster and the staff of the school.”
Addressing the students, Professor Amikuzuno reminded them of the importance of discipline and urged them to take their studies seriously to achieve their future aspirations.
He stressed that personal responsibility and commitment to academic excellence are key factors in realizing their goals.
“A student must learn, do class assignments, research, do home-work, write examinations, and must attend classes and participate in class and school activities fully, keep notes for reference purposes, embrace and fully participate in well-defined extra-curricular activities, show courtesy and obey school regulations aimed at propelling them to become responsible citizens in the future.”
