NDC’s Stephen Avoyam commends non-partisan endorsement of KNW DCE

The confirmation, according to him, was done on a non-partisan basis with a collective trust in the nominees' competence.

Stephen Avoyam, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer of  Chiana-Paga, has commended Assembly Members of the Kassena-Nankana West District for the overwhelming endorsement of Stephen Aeke Akurugo as District Chief Executive (DCE).

The confirmation, according to him, was done on a non-partisan basis with a collective trust in the nominees’ competence.

Avoyam, speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday, May 2, alluded that the Kassena-Nankana West District has been stagnant when it comes to development.

“His confirmation means the people are yearning for development- water, extension of rural electricity, they want to see massive development,”

“Even the NPP affiliated assembly members endorsed him; it was not really on party lines, they know KNW has been left out of the hook of development for a long time, and this is the time for us to come together,” Avoyam said.

Avoyam believes that the confirmation of Stephen Aeke Akurugo as DCE will advance the developmental prospects of the district, adding that Aeke will deliver on President John Mahama’s vision for the people.

“He is going to implement the vision of President Mahama to the people of Chiana-Paga,” Avoyam assured.

Aeke secured 58 votes out of 65 ballots cast, confirming his nomination as the President’s representative in the Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly. He has promised to deliver equal development to all communities in the district.
