Paga Catholic Parish marks 10th anniversary with historic partnership visit to Tongo

The St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, Paga in the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic Diocese has as part of its 10th anniversary organized a historic partnership engagement with the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, Tongo, aimed at strengthening inter-parish collaboration and spiritual unity.
The event, held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, formed part of activities marking a decade of the Paga Parish’s establishment, while also recognizing the 66-year legacy of the Tongo Parish.
The partnership initiative, organized under the theme of inter-faith and parish-based cooperation, sought to promote stronger relationships between the two Catholic communities, encourage shared learning, and deepen spiritual fellowship among parishioners.
As part of the anniversary the celebration began with with a joint Holy Mass attended by clergy and parishioners from both parishes.
Members of the visiting Paga Parish participated in a guided tour of the historic Tongo Hills, offering participants an opportunity to appreciate the cultural and religious significance of the area.
The event also featured a “love meal,” where members of the two congregations shared food in a show of unity and fellowship.
Another highlight was the “Invisible Friends” activity, designed to encourage acts of kindness, generosity, and strengthened bonds among parishioners.
Leaders of both parishes described the partnership as a significant step toward sustained collaboration, expressing optimism that the initiative would promote continued exchanges, joint programmes, and mutual spiritual growth between the two church communities.
