PAYOM commends Hajia Halima Sadia Mohammad for book donation to Paga community library
PAYOM has commended Hajia Halima Sadia Mohammad for donating books to support the establishment of a community library in Paga.
The Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) has expressed profound gratitude to educationist, philanthropist and international businesswoman, Hajia Halima Sadia Mohammad, for her generous donation of books towards the establishment of a community library in Paga.
PAYOM said the donation represents a significant contribution to its efforts to create access to educational and reading resources for students, young people and residents of the community.
The books were received on behalf of the Movement on Saturday September 5, by its Public Relations Officer, Desmond Abire, the Treasurer and another representative.
PAYOM described the gesture as more than a donation of books, saying it was an investment in knowledge, education and the future of the youth of Paga.
The Movement also expressed appreciation to Suleman Salifu Zebrim, the facilitator of the donation, for his efforts in connecting the community’s educational needs with the benefactor.
Zebrim, an educationist and former Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service in the Bongo District, said he facilitated the donation as part of his continued commitment to promoting quality education in Paga and the Kassena-Nankana West District.
He said his experience in the education sector had exposed him to the impact of inadequate learning materials on teaching and learning, particularly in deprived communities.
Zebrim said the donation would help improve the reading culture, enhance academic performance and motivate teachers and pupils in the area.
He therefore called on other well-meaning individuals, philanthropists and organisations to emulate Hajia Halima Sadia Mohammad’s example and support educational initiatives in the community.
PAYOM has, meanwhile, appealed to sons and daughters of Paga, businesses, institutions, organisations and friends of the community to support the library project with additional books, furniture, computers, financial assistance and other relevant resources.
The Movement said it remains committed to working with stakeholders to establish the library as a lasting centre for learning, reading, research and personal development.
