Solomon Navanse elected Navrongo Central NPP Chairman, calls for party unity
Newly elected chairman pledges to unite party members and strengthen the NPP's chances ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Solomon Kovia Navanse has been elected and sworn in as the new Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Navrongo Central Constituency.
Navanse secured 581 votes out of 1,082 valid votes cast, defeating three other contenders in the constituency executive elections held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS).
Speaking to the media after his victory, Navanse expressed gratitude to God and thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him to lead the party.
He described party unity as his foremost priority, pledging to work closely with all contestants and their supporters to strengthen the NPP ahead of future elections.
“My number one priority is unity. I want everyone to come on board so that together we can work for the progress of the party,” he stated.
Navanse stressed that every member of the party has a role to play in rebuilding a united front and advancing the NPP’s political fortunes in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the newly elected Constituency Communications Director, Jacob Asomadawine, who was elected unopposed, described the peaceful conduct of the elections as a positive sign of the party’s maturity and readiness for the task ahead.
According to him, the focus now shifts from internal contests to mobilising members and preparing to reclaim the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat.
“The work begins now, and I pray that we will all come together so the Elephant will return to power. We are determined to take back the Navrongo Central seat and contribute to the party’s victory in the 2028 general elections,” he said.
