Upper East Middle League decides this weekend

Three clubs are tied on nine points as the final fixtures this weekend will determine which team secures qualification to the Division One League.

The Upper East Regional Middle League reaches a decisive stage this weekend, as fans describe it as “the weekend that decides.”

The competition is tied among three clubs, namely Berekum City, Bolga Soccer Masters, and Zorko United. All three teams have nine points each, with Bolga Soccer Masters leading, followed by Berekum City, and Zorko United in third place.

A look at the clubs’ chances

Soccer Masters need a win against Berekum City to qualify, provided Zorko United draw or lose to Samba Stars. Soccer Masters have lost to Berekum City three timesonce last year in the Middle League and twice consecutively in the Division Two League.

Berekum City have the upper hand to qualify if they beat Soccer Masters. The result between Zorko United and Samba Stars will not matter, as Zorko United lost to Berekum City. Therefore, on head-to-head, Berekum City will qualify.

Zorko United need a win against Samba Stars and must hope that Berekum City and Soccer Masters draw, or that Soccer Masters beat Berekum City, to qualify. If both matches end in draws, Soccer Masters will qualify ahead of Zorko United and Berekum City due to goal difference.

Mike Sports findings reveal that the general sports fans in the region prefer Zorko United or Soccer Masters to qualify rather than Berekum City. This is based on the notion that if Berekum City qualifies, they may move the slot to Berekum to play in the Division One League, especially as Berekum Arsenal face relegation.

Some fans strongly argue that as long as the team does not change its name, there is no reason to assume they will relocate, insisting that if they qualify, they will represent the region.

Fans in the region want a team that will qualify to join Bolga All Stars in the Division One League, in order to reduce the travelling burden on teams.
