Nyania FC Coach Appeals for Cash Prizes in PAYOM Unity Games.
After guiding Nyania FC to their maiden PAYOM Unity Games title, Coach Kajelo Kwozem calls for cash rewards and improved award selection processes to motivate players and enhance the competition.
The Head Coach of Nyania FC, winners of the 5th edition of the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) Unity Games, Kajelo Kwozem aka Okocka has commended the organizers for successfully hosting the tournament.
Speaking on Mike Elite Sports, a sports programme on Mike FM on Saturday, the coach described the competition as one of the best football tournaments organized in the Upper East Region, praising the organizers for their efforts in promoting unity and sports development within the Paga enclave.
He, however, appealed to the organizers to introduce cash prizes for the champions and provide additional incentives such as goalkeeping gloves and football boots for winners of the various individual awards.
The coach also expressed reservations about the selection of the tournament’s Best Player award, stating that in his view, the accolade was given to the wrong player. According to him, the recipient had not produced performances worthy of such recognition and had not even come close to winning a Man of the Match award during the competition.
He urged the organizers to consult experienced football personalities when selecting winners of individual awards to ensure deserving players are recognized.
Nyania FC made history by winning the PAYOM Unity Games trophy for the first time since the competition was established.
