Nyania FC Coach calls for cash prizes in PAYOM unity games

After guiding Nyania FC to their maiden PAYOM Unity Games title, Coach Kajelo Kwozem calls for cash rewards and improved award selection processes to motivate players and enhance the competition.

The Head Coach of Nyania FC, winners of the fifth edition of the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) Unity Games, Kajelo Kwozem, popularly known as Okocka, has commended the organisers for successfully staging what he described as one of the best community football tournaments in the Upper East Region.

Speaking on Mike Elite Sports, Coach Okocka praised the organisers for using football to promote unity and sports development across the Paga enclave.

Despite the praise, he appealed to the organisers to introduce cash prizes for the tournament champions and provide additional incentives, including goalkeeping gloves and football boots, for winners of the various individual awards.

The coach also questioned the selection of the tournament’s Best Player, arguing that the eventual winner did not produce performances deserving of the accolade and had not even won a Man of the Match award throughout the competition.

He urged the organisers to involve experienced football experts in selecting individual award winners to ensure deserving players receive recognition.

Nyania FC made history by winning the PAYOM Unity Games trophy for the first time since the competition was established.
