Telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana has announced plans to expand its retail presence with the addition of 300 community stores across the country by the end of the year.
The announcement was made by MTN Ghana CEO, Stephen Blewett, during a media and stakeholder forum held in Tamale on May 16, 2025.
According to Blewett, the move is aimed at enhancing customer service by making MTN services more accessible and reducing congestion at the company’s main service centers.
“By implementing these measures, the company aims to reduce the number of people visiting its stores, thereby decreasing wait times,” Blewett stated.

As part of the initiative, MTN Ghana is set to employ 400 new staff members to support the existing workforce, helping to streamline operations and improve customer experience across the newly established outlets.
“The company recognizes that long queues and wait times are a major concern for customers,” he added, emphasizing the company’s commitment to improving service delivery in underserved areas.
Blewett also encouraged customers to take advantage of MTN’s electronic SIM (eSIM) technology, which allows users to access mobile services digitally without the need to visit physical stores.
The expansion aligns with MTN’s broader goal of enhancing digital inclusion and customer convenience across Ghana, particularly in regions where access to telecommunications services remains limited.
