With an energetic blend of music, interactive sessions, and educational outreach, Kampus Connect is setting the stage for more student-led initiatives against drug abuse in Navrongo and the Upper East Region at large.

In a dynamic fusion of entertainment and education, Nu-Bia Events, a Navrongo-based events organizing group, has partnered with tertiary institutions in the area to launch “Kampus Connect,” an initiative aimed at raising awareness on the dangers of drug abuse among students and the wider community.

The event saw students from all the tertiary education institutions in Navrongo participating.

The campaign kicked off with a vibrant float through the principal streets of Navrongo, drawing the attention of students, residents, and passersby before converging at the Mayaga Hotel, where the main event was held.

Tertiary institutions which participated in the initiative included the C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, St. John Bosco’s College of Education, and the Navrongo Community Health Nursing Training College.

Speaking to Mike FM, Francis Xavier Adams, Vice Chairman of Nu-Bia Events, emphasized the urgency of addressing drug abuse, particularly among the youth.

“The impact of drugs on students and residents is a growing concern,” he said.

“Kampus Connect is our way of educating and encouraging young people to say no to drugs. It is not just an event—it’s a call to action.” Adams added.

Adams expressed gratitude to the event’s partners including Flames Condoms, Heaven Sounds, Kacstone Records, Bel Ice Beverages, and Fast Link Academy for their support in bringing the campaign to life.

The students marched through principal streets of Navrongo town, raising awareness on drug abuse.

He further revealed that the initiative will not be a one-off event.

“We intend to make Kampus Connect an annual program. The fight against drug abuse is a collective effort, and we’re committed to sustaining this initiative.”
