NDC government’s performance in eight months uninspiring – NPP Communicator
Nabina-Yerijua said he expects nothing more than self-praise from President Mahama, arguing that the government has failed to meet public expectations.
A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Stephen Nabina-Yerijua, has described the eight months of the John Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government as uninspiring and far below the promises made ahead of the 2024 elections.
Speaking ahead of the President’s scheduled media encounter with journalists, Nabina-Yerijua said he expects nothing more than self-praise from President Mahama, arguing that the government has failed to meet public expectations.
“What is he coming to say? Even though questions will be posed to him, I know he will give a statement before that. But what has he done? To me, he is just coming to engage in what I call personal aggrandisement – only to praise himself, because as an ordinary Ghanaian, I have not seen what he has done.” He stated.
He further argued that the NDC’s flagship promises, including the 24-hour economy and the proposed National Women’s Bank, remain unfulfilled.
“You see, there’s a widespread despondency in this government. Ghanaians did not vote for John Dramani Mahama only to stabilise the cedi and employ under the youth employment scheme.” Nabina-Yerijua said.
“The Women’s Development Bank, we have not seen the reality. The 24-hour economy, the biggest promise, is a very vague and tantalising one. If you go to the presidency, there’s a whole office, somebody in charge of the 24-hour economy with an assistant, but nothing is going on.”
Nabina-Yerijua rated the Mahama administration’s reset agenda at just 9%, stressing that the reasons Ghanaians voted for the NDC in the last election are yet to materialise.
