Government already resetting several sectors of the country — NDC Communicator
Akanuwe said the government’s initiatives under the reset agenda are yielding visible results in infrastructure, health, and education, among other areas.
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Communications Team, Maxwell Douglas Akanuwe, has commended the NDC government for what he describes as a successful implementation of its “reset agenda” across various sectors of the economy.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday October 17, Akanuwe said the government’s initiatives under the reset agenda are yielding visible results in infrastructure, health, and education, among other areas.
“For now, we have seen a lot being done. At least I have seen the Big Push project, where over 10 million cedis has been injected to fix our roads. Just two days ago, 5 million Ghana cedis was released for the payment of some contractors,”
“In the health sector, 13,000 nurses and midwives who were employed without financial clearance have been assured of receiving their salaries. We have also seen health insurance strengthened and fees for first-year tertiary students paid. This is the proper reset we were talking about, and people have seen it actualized on the ground.” Akanuwe explained.
He accused the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of neglecting key sectors of the economy before leaving office, asserting that the NDC is now working to restore and improve those areas.
Responding to criticisms that the NDC’s “24-hour economy” policy was a deception, Akanuwe clarified that it was part of the party’s 2024 campaign manifesto and is being implemented in phases.
“Our party’s manifesto before the 2024 general elections clearly stated what we intended to do with the 24-hour economy. We said certain institutions would operate round the clock, while factories willing to run 24-hour operations would receive tax exemptions. DVLA and other institutions have already started implementing this,” he noted.
Akanuwe also took a swipe at the NPP for opposing what he described as “life-changing” government policies, stressing that many Ghanaians appreciate the positive changes being experienced under the NDC’s leadership.
