NDC is a disability-friendly party that prioritizes welfare of PWDs – Builsa North NDC Communication Director
According to him, the NDC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to improving the lives of PWDs through targeted social interventions and inclusive governance.
The Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Builsa North Constituency, Kennedy Gariba, has described the party as a disability-friendly political organization that places the welfare of Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) at the center of its policies and governance agenda.
According to him, the NDC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to improving the lives of PWDs through targeted social interventions and inclusive governance.
Speaking on in a media interview, Gariba cited the introduction of free tertiary education for persons living with disabilities as a major policy initiative aimed at removing financial barriers and promoting equal access to higher education.
He noted that the policy has enabled many PWDs to enroll in universities and other tertiary institutions without the burden of tuition fees.
The Communication Officer also highlighted the appointment of qualified PWDs into various public offices under NDC administrations as evidence of the party’s commitment to inclusivity and representation.
Gariba explained that such appointments ensure that the voices and concerns of PWDs are adequately represented in decision-making processes.
He disclosed that the government has plans to increase the percentage allocation of the District Assemblies Common Fund dedicated to persons living with disabilities.
According to him, the move is intended to provide additional financial support for empowerment programs, skills training, and small-scale business initiatives for PWDs at the district level.
He reaffirmed the NDC’s resolve to continue championing policies that promote equal opportunities, social protection, and economic empowerment for Persons Living with Disabilities across the country.
He therefore urged PWDs and their families to continue supporting the NDC, stressing that the party remains committed to building an inclusive society where no one is left behind.
