The Assembly Member for the Chiana Alonia/Asonia Electoral Area, Robert Wejegedam Bagoni Nawurah has called on community members to unite and support efforts to improve their local health center.
Speaking at a health durbar held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, Nawurah emphasized that quality healthcare is the foundation of every strong and prosperous community and should be a shared responsibility among all residents.
According to him, ensuring effective healthcare delivery should not be left to health workers alone but requires the collective support of community leaders, women’s groups, the youth, and other stakeholders.
He noted that the health center plays a crucial role in caring for the sick, protecting pregnant women during childbirth, vaccinating children, and educating residents on disease prevention and healthy living.
Nawurah also commended health workers in the community for their dedication and sacrifices despite the challenges they face in delivering services.
He appealed to traditional leaders and dignitaries to support the improvement of infrastructure, equipment, and services at the health facility to enable it to operate efficiently.
The community members were further encouraged to support health initiatives through clean-up exercises and volunteer activities and by maintaining cleanliness around the facility.
Nawurah also urged residents to work together to strengthen the health center for the benefit of present and future generations.
