Rainstorm damages offices at Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly
Confirming the incident to the media, the District Chief Executive, Stephen Aeke Akurugo, stated that no injuries or loss of life were recorded.

A heavy rainstorm has caused significant damage to parts of the Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly (KNWDA), ripping off the roofs of three key administrative offices.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:10 P.M on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at a time when one officer was still at work clearing his desk.
According to reports, the officer quickly alerted colleagues residing in Paga, who rushed to the scene to assist in salvaging documents and other essential items from the affected offices for safekeeping.
Confirming the incident to the media, the District Chief Executive, Stephen Aeke Akurugo, stated that no injuries or loss of life were recorded.
He added that staff from the affected offices have since been temporarily relocated to share space with other departments within the Assembly.
The offices severely impacted and currently rendered unusable include the District Coordinating Director’s Office, the District Budget Analyst’s Office, and the District Planning Office.
Despite the damage, Akurugo assured that administrative work at the Assembly has not been disrupted, as interim measures have been implemented to ensure continuity of operations.
