Builsa NHIS Office introduces Saturday service for free registration and renewal

The Saturday service is aimed at enabling more residents, including those unable to visit during weekdays, to access free NHIS registration and renewal under the ongoing national exercise.

The Builsa District Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has announced that it will operate on Saturdays to facilitate free registration and renewal of NHIS cards for residents.

The initiative forms part of an ongoing nationwide exercise aimed at expanding access to healthcare under the Free Primary Health Care (FPHC) programme.

According to the District Manager, Sunday Akpitipolah, the exercise, which runs from April 15 to May 31, 2026, allows individuals to either register or renew their NHIS membership at no cost.

He explained that the introduction of Saturday services is intended to provide an opportunity for residents who may be unable to visit the office during weekdays to access the service.

Akpitipolah further noted that the exercise covers all categories of persons, including adults and children, and urged residents across the district to take full advantage of the intervention.

Residents have therefore been encouraged to turn out in their numbers, as the district office emphasises inclusivity in the ongoing exercise.
