PAYOM urges community collaboration for the development of Paga

Youth movement says peace, teamwork, and active community participation are key to promoting growth and social cohesion in Paga.

The Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) has called for collective action, collaboration, and active participation among residents of the Paga community to accelerate development in the area.

The call was made during the climax of the PAYOM Inter-Community Unity Games held on Saturday, May 16, at the Paga Football Park.

Addressing football enthusiasts, players, stakeholders, and well-wishers at the event, Chairman of PAYOM, Wenawome Aborah, stated that the purpose of the inter-community games extended beyond entertainment.

“Today is not only about football and entertainment, but also about strengthening peace, unity, friendship, and development among our communities,” he said.

Aborah stressed that PAYOM’s commitment to youth and community development could only be achieved through the full involvement and support of community members.

“PAYOM remains committed to bringing the youth together and promoting communal growth through collective action and peaceful coexistence,” he added.

He also commended institutions and individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the area. Special tribute was paid to Dr. Ama Antwiwaa, described as the only medical doctor who accepted posting to the district hospital.

The First Vice Chairman and now Elder of PAYOM, as well as former Upper East Regional Physical Education Coordinator, Thomas Awiah, expressed appreciation to all individuals and groups who contributed to the success of the movement’s inter-community unity games.
