Government can pursue new projects despite existing challenges — Ayamboliba
NDC constituency secretary says ongoing infrastructural challenges should not halt implementation of new development initiatives
The Builsa North Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Ayamboliba, has defended the government’s decision to initiate new development projects in Buluk despite concerns over unresolved developmental challenges in the area.
According to him, the existence of long-standing challenges should not prevent the government from introducing new interventions aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Ayamboliba made the remarks while responding to criticisms on Mike FM’s Tengomisiyerika Dalong programme on Sunday regarding the government’s decision to prioritize the construction of a 24-hour economy market in Buluk amid concerns over poor roads, inadequate electricity supply, unemployment, and weak telecommunications connectivity.
He described such criticisms as unhelpful, stressing that development is a gradual and continuous process that requires government to address multiple needs simultaneously.
Ayamboliba acknowledged that concerns surrounding the deplorable Chuchuliga-Sandema-Fumbisi-Wiesi road, lack of electricity in some communities, youth unemployment, and limited access to telecommunications networks are legitimate.
However, he argued that these challenges should not be used as a basis to oppose the implementation of new development projects.
According to him, government must be allowed to roll out interventions across different sectors while ongoing efforts continue to address existing infrastructural deficits confronting communities.
He therefore called on residents of Builsa and Ghanaians in general to exercise patience and maintain confidence in the government of President John Dramani Mahama, assuring them that their developmental concerns would be addressed progressively.
Ayamboliba further disclosed that contractors are already working on sections of the road project, while electricity extension works have also commenced in some communities within the Kadema area as part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and living conditions.
He emphasized that development should not be viewed as selective, but rather as a continuous process aimed at creating opportunities and improving the welfare of people across communities.
