Newly elected NPP Chairman pledges to rebuild unity in Navrongo Central ahead of 2028

Solomon Kovia Navanse begins reconciliation efforts, promising to unite party factions and strengthen NPP structures ahead of the 2028 elections.

The newly elected Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Solomon Kovia Navanse, has pledged to restore unity within the party, describing internal divisions as the greatest obstacle to the party’s efforts to reclaim the parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday, July 13, Navanse said rebuilding trust and bringing all party members together, including those who lost the recent constituency elections, would be his administration’s foremost priority.

“Our party is not in a good shape because of disunity. The first thing on my mind is how to bring everybody on board,” he said.

Navanse disclosed that he had already begun a peace and reconciliation tour aimed at engaging former party leaders, elders and other key stakeholders to promote unity within the party.

“Yesterday, we started the peace tour. We visited our elders to thank them for their advice, and we also met other party members to discuss how to reorganise and strengthen the party,” he stated.

According to the chairman, the reconciliation effort will be extended to polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and party supporters across the constituency to better understand their concerns and rebuild confidence in the party.

“We have to reach out to those who, for one reason or another, are no longer working for the party. We need to go to them and bring them back together,” he announced.

Navanse expressed confidence that his longstanding working relationship with the various factions within the constituency places him in a unique position to unite members ahead of the 2028 elections.

“I have always said I am the person who can bring this party together because I have worked with all the different camps. I can still go back to them and bring everyone together,” he declared.

He appealed to party members to rally behind the new constituency executives and contribute ideas that would strengthen the party’s structures and improve its electoral prospects.

“The party needs unity. We must come back together as one family. I urge everyone to support me and offer constructive advice because the chairman is there to serve the people,” he said.

Navanse expressed optimism that a united and well-organised party would be better positioned to reconnect with the electorate and mount a strong challenge for the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
