Berekum City FC coach rallies Upper East fans ahead of Division One debut
Berekum City FC Head Coach Adamu Akugre has urged Upper East fans to support the club as it prepares for its maiden Division One League campaign.
Head Coach of Berekum City FC, Adamu Akugre, has called on supporters and people of the Upper East Region to rally behind the club as it prepares for its debut campaign in the Division One League.
Coach Akugre made the appeal in an interview with the media after the club’s final pre-season match at the Paga Town Park.
He urged fans to have confidence in the team, assuring them that the players and technical team would work hard to make them proud.
“Rally behind us, support us and we will not disgrace you,” he said.
Berekum City FC will begin its league campaign with an away fixture against newly promoted Kalibi FC in Wa before returning home to face Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Kurt Okraku Technical Centre.
The Upper East-based club has significantly strengthened its squad ahead of the new season, bringing in 15 new players as it prepares for its maiden Division One League campaign.
According to Mike Elite Sports sources, six players from the Upper East Region are also part of the squad, providing a strong local presence in the team.
The 2026/27 Division One League season is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, September 19.
With the new season fast approaching, Coach Akugre is counting on the support of fans and residents of the Upper East Region as Berekum City FC seeks to make a strong impression in the competition.
