The Former Upper East Regional Minister Tangoba Abayage, Monday, June 30, marked her birthday with a heartwarming donation to the Children’s Ward of the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo.
She presented assorted items, including toilet rolls, liquid soap, bags of sachet water, and cartons of malt drinks, to support the upkeep of the ward and ensure the comfort of the children admitted there.
In her remarks during the presentation of the items, she noted that this gesture is part of her continued commitment to the welfare of children. She revealed that it was not the first time she was supporting the ward, as she renovated it in 2018 and also donated a television set to the ward.
“2018 was my first time coming here to interact with the kids and the nurses at that time, I was the ambassador to Italy. Now I got a friend from the United States who came and renovated the walls. So, you see all the drawings, you see the ward, yes, we did that in 2018. We also donated a TV. I don’t know whether it’s working.” She stated.

Receiving the items on behalf of the ward, the Nurse-in-Charge, Seidu Faruk, expressed deep gratitude to Tango for her consistent support over the years.
“It was a very huge gift from her heart, and we thank her so much because she has been doing it consistently for years. And the mere thought of coming to support the vulnerable, which is the children, is something which goes to speak of the character of her determination of her commitment to the life of the people in Navrongo at large.” He noted.

Abayage emphasised that giving back to society has always been something she loves doing, especially when it comes to children, as they are the most vulnerable and need every possible care and support.
