Bryan Acheampong unfazed by Bawumia endorsements — Patrick Dinaa

According to Dinaa, the recent projections of Dr. Bawumia as a preferred presidential candidate do not reflect the true sentiments of party delegates at the grassroots ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

The Upper East Regional Communications Coordinator for the Dr. Bryan Acheampong Campaign, Patrick Mogre Dinaa, says his candidate is unfazed by the growing public endorsements of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by some influential members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Dinaa, the recent projections of Dr. Bawumia as a preferred presidential candidate do not reflect the true sentiments of party delegates at the grassroots ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

He made the remarks in the wake of Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s visit to the Upper East Region, where the aspirant engaged party delegates and interacted with the media on his vision for the party.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday, January 12, Dinaa dismissed suggestions that the Acheampong campaign feels threatened by Dr. Bawumia’s endorsements.

“We are not threatened at all. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the region, and when some electoral area coordinators were contacted and asked to publicly declare support for him, many resisted on our internal platforms.” He said.

Dinaa further argued that several high-profile endorsements being publicised are driven by party power brokers and may not necessarily translate into votes on the day of the election.

“I have personally interacted with some former parliamentary candidates who told me they were called upon to add their names to a support list. But they were clear that what ultimately matters is their thumbprint at the ballot box.”

Reaffirming confidence in Dr. Acheampong’s candidature, Dinaa said the former Minister remains a strong contender with the capacity to reposition the party for victory.

“Dr. Bryan Acheampong stands tall among the contenders. He is the right person to reorganise our base and instill discipline within the party. His message is simple and clear: unity, rebuilding, and reclaiming power from the NDC in 2028. The delegates have listened to him.” He added.

The NPP is expected to intensify internal engagements in the coming days as aspirants seek the mandate of delegates to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
